I am the founder of the Solidarity History Initiative
The Solidarity History Initiative (SoHi) was formed in 2022 to merge the skills of memory workers with the skills of organizers and activists. We work with organizations and causes that we care about to create documentation; we work with cultural heritage institutions to acquire this documentation; and we promote the causes through podcasts and other public-facing projects.
At SoHi I do these things:
Oral history interviews
Podcast production
Trainings and consulting
Grant writing/administration
I’m a co-founding facilitator of Mapping Trans Joy
Mapping Trans Joy is a joy-as-resistance participatory mapping project with the goal of reimagining our geographies through a lens of trans joy. We invite all trans/nonbinary/two spirit/gender queer/gender expansive, and general cisn’t folks to share some joy!
I also worked with the Louisiana Trans Oral History Project.
The Louisiana Trans Oral History Project (LaTOHP) was a trans-run, community-focused initiative to collect, preserve, and promote the voices of Louisiana’s transgender and gender non-conforming communities. LaTOHP was officially sunsetted in Spring 2023 after three very active years. Check out the website for an overview of all the things we did.
At LaTOHP I did these things:
Oral history interviews
Outreach/promotion/social media management
Grant writing/administration
Website development and management
